Once again blithely ignoring the ‘Save sex for marriage’ message that could save the country from social disaster, the Government has further undermined our Christian heritage by declaring that sex education in schools is to become mandatory from the age of five within two years.
And this despite a public outcry amid condemnation from concerned parents and family groups.
Schools Secretary Ed Balls has also revealed that parents will no longer be able to withdraw their children from sex education lessons once they turn 15 – the previous limit being 19. And while it’s true that only a small percentage of parents have exercised this right, this is likely to be because they either don’t have a clue what exactly their children are being taught, or are too afraid to do so for fear of alienating their child in front of their peers.
Sadly, the content of sex education classes as they stand is not based on our Christian heritage but rather on a model which has already been seen to fail – a model which consists of telling youngsters to resist pressure while (in some cases) giving them condoms and pills. A model which tells youngsters they are in control and that they should have sex when they’re ‘ready’. A model which refuses to mention marriage, refuses to see the family in a Christian context, and even appears to encourage children to break the law – i.e. engage in underage sex.
It might feel as though there is no answer when the government keeps pushing against the very foundations of the family, but there are things that concerned parents can do.
Christian lobby group CARE have devised a programme called evaluate which consists of a set of three age-appropriate multi-media presentations delivered in primary and secondary schools by teams of trained volunteer educators. At the heart of this project lies the belief that ‘every young person is a unique and valuable individual, capable of making and maintaining healthy choices if suitably equipped and supported’.
Sue Lindars, the programme’s project manager, says: “Much of the sex and relationship work in schools assumes that young people will have sex under age and promotes safe sex in response to this. But condoms are only safer and not completely safe.”
Likewise, Challenge Team UK, a charitable trust, recruits and trains young adult volunteers who have made a personal decision to save sex for marriage. These volunteers tour schools throughout the UK with a dynamic and relevant message presented by young people, for young people. Saving sex for marriage is presented as realistic and achievable, the risks of being sexually active are clearly explained, and the positives and freedoms of practising chastity are emphasised.
Both evaluate and Challenge Team are Christian-run initiatives that can be taken into schools at the request of the headteacher, but one of the most powerful ways concerned Christians can influence policy from within is to become a school governor. The governing body has the responsibility to work in partnership with the head and staff to establish the aims of the school including ensuring that sex education is taught properly and within an acceptable framework.
It is imperative that Christian parents reclaim their rights. Doors are open – we just need the confidence to walk through them and instigate change, which may well help secure a healthy future for our young people.

Thanks to the author, Dee, for this very informative article. To me personally, sex education beginning at age five seems way too early. By doing so, we strip our children of their innocence. Five-year-olds should not be learning about sex; they should be learning the very things that will be the foundation of their knowledge as they grow and mature (and sex is a mature subject not for kids that young). I also agree that the way sex education is taught is mainly as a conduit to what some may call “safe sex” when in fact, this is a fallacy. Plenty of teens still contract venereal diseases or become pregnant. This may be “somewhat safer sex”, but it is not completely without risk and too many young kids become involved in sexual relationships when they are truly not ready due to peer pressure or possibly driven by hormones. It also seems odd that sex education in schools does not include the other obvious choice - chastity. Thanks to the author of this article for bringing some very important points to light.

I think evaluate and Challenge Team sound wonderful. I would feel happier (if my children were still of school age) if the governors chose these initiatives. Otherwise existing, busy teachers can end up doing the sex education: they may not feel properly equipped, and as a result liberal charities are invited into the school. In my experience liberal charities mistakenly believe they should break down young people’s inhibitions, which makes it more likely they will lose their virginity earlier.

Indeed, Mckellen is a man of parts; on another occasion, whilst giving a performance of King Lear at the Royal Shakespeare Company’s theatre, at Stratford upon Avon, two years ago, he felt the need to drop his trousers, exposing himself to a mixed audience that included schoolchildren .

Backed by the Government, for which Stonewall is a Trojan horse, their aim is to deconstruct the most intimate parts of human relationships and to establish secularism as the ruling ideology. None of this is fiction. These agents for cultural Marxism are working in every area of British life: in education; student and trade unions; the National Health Department; the legal system; the judiciary; the media; investment; local government etc. But above all, it is in Department for Children Schools and Families where those determined to utterly deconstruct British society are working quietly and yet mostly furiously. BE WARNED! On any scale of reckoning this is a Christianophobic, pornographic, obscene, offensive, blasphemous and desperately wicked piece of writing.
Yet, Mckellen and the present chief executive of Stonewall, Ben Summerskill, have pressed hard for a blasphemy law of their own, the ‘Incitement to Homophobic Speech Crime’. And had not Lord Waddington won a freedom of speech clause, 29JA of the Criminal Justice and Immigration Bill, just a little while ago, I would probably be liable to a seven year prison sentence for even daring to write this letter. But the deliberate uncertainty, with regard to our standing with law ,created by the incitement to homophobic hatred crime, is a deliberate ploy to render us silent for fear of a knock on the door by the police.
Lord Waddington’s freedom of speech clause said:
“In this Part, for the avoidance of doubt, the discussion or criticism of sexual conduct or practices or the urging of persons to refrain from or modify such conduct or practices shall not be taken of itself to be threatening or intended to stir up hatred.”
Who would have conceived five or even three years ago that “the discussion or criticism of sexual conduct or practices or the urging of persons to refrain from or modify such conduct,” could result in a seven year prison sentence?
Freedoms of conscience and speech that have cost the blood of countless men and women over two thousand years are about to disappear. Our every thought, emotion, intention and action are already being minutely monitored, assessed and made accountable to Gordon Brown’s apparatchiks.
In September 2008, just a few months after his public rendition of the above poem, Mckellen started his schools anti -homophobic bullying campaign at the St George’s School, Harpenden, Hertfordshire.
Bearing in mind that this was an ex- Church of England School with a “Christian” ethos, one wanders what response he would have received from the assembled children, staff, governors, parents and dinner ladies had he read out the ‘Love that Dares to Speak its Name’ ?
He is reported as saying, in the Telegraph “I’ve been busy at quite a few schools recently. I went to a wonderful co-ed faith school in Harpenden. They were Christians and absolutely determined that their pupils did not discriminate,”
“They invited me to come and give prizes to 13-year-olds in front of the parents and to talk, partly, about being gay. I said that we were all part of a minority group - be it for being short or tall or fat or thin, or having red hair or whatever. I said, ‘Hands up who thinks they are part of a minority group,’ and all the hands went up.”
This reminded me of when I was a school teacher, and a rebellious and disruptive pupil would use similar words in an attempt to wrest authority out my hands. They would call out similar words: “ Hands up all those who, for whatever reason, do not want to comply with the teacher’s instructions.” They were the words of the mutineer. They work on people’s petty grievances and petty sense of injustice until these perceived hurts assumed major human rights issues. “Hands up all those who think we should able to have whatever we want whenever we want and to hell with everyone else.”
Having aroused within children a sense of grievance, simply by virtue of individual children being differentiated from the majority through natural, immutable and genetic differences, such as being bandy legged or having big ears, he then interposes his own sexual desires and behaviour on the host school - as just another attribute, over which he claims he has no choice or control : my genes make me do it.

Is this the kind of behaviour underwritten by the General Teaching Council, Ofsted, the DCSF and the government? It seems so, and yet they are demanding CRB checks to be carried out on the parents who home - school their children.

I was assured by an official that Ian Mckellen’s visit had nothing specifically to do with homophobic bullying - only bullying in general; and yet clearly the entire BBC News report talks of nothing but. The news reporter never said who had been bullied, or how many, when, where or what the nature of this bullying was. Even the one, recent and tragic suicide in the school was claimed to have nothing to do with bullying.
If both the head of Severn Vale School and Ian Mckellen can be so sure that 72 pupils (using Stonewall’s figure of 6% [listen to the news report]) are gay, have they identified or outed them? Has the head, since this whole event was apparently not just about homophobic bullying, done an audit on precisely the percentage of his pupils who are short, tall, obese, underweight, left -handed, ginger haired, disabled, blue eyed - or even those children who have been forcibly removed from their natural parents through the family courts?
Compared with the rights of homosexuals the rights of this latter group are zero. Indeed children will in future be removed from their natural parents and given into the hands of gays. Don’t believe me? It is already happening. And what about the rights of nearly 200,000 babies aborted in Britain alone. Are these not a minority and disadvantaged group? Do they not have rights?

Stonewall and the Lesbian Gay Bisexual and Trans sexual lobby , LGBT, talk about the importance of giving children positive, homosexual role models.
At the beginning of June this year, the Telegraph reported that,
“Children as young as four were among the pupils told about same sex relationships as part of the International Day against Homophobia and Transphobia. During the talk children at Bromstone Primary in Broadstairs, Kent, were played music by Elton John and told he was homosexual.
A string of parents have since complained their children were left “confused” and “worried” by the assembly. Gemma Martin, 28, whose daughter Chloe, seven, and Danny, four, are both pupils, went on: “It’s meant a number of girls are worried about being friends with each other. “Little girls often cuddle each other if one of them is crying or has fallen over, and now they are afraid to do that in case the others think they are gay……….”

Most significantly the article, above, related to Bromstone Primary school states:
“Michelle Cosgrove, 33, of Westgate-on-Sea, said a number of parents had felt the school had not listened to their complaints about the assembly, and they were treated as homophobic just for asking why they were not consulted.”
There is no intemperance here on the part of the parents; no threatening behaviour - only a God- given concern for their children. They were merely exercising their parental right to use discretion and their parental instinct to protect their vulnerable and suggestible children. And yet they are accused of a homophobic incident, which could eventually carry a prison sentence.

Yet, in spite of all the evidence that I have presented here, I know that there are those good, kindly folk who will say, “ Well, yes, but there does exist a high incidence of suicide amongst young homosexuals, which if not directly related to bullying, is as a result of society not accepting and affirming them.” But I ask, do we accept and affirm drug addicts in their habits for fear that they will feel rejected and take their own lives? There are cases where the seemingly most liberated homosexuals, no matter how much they receive public affirmation and celebrity, cannot cope with the contradictions (cognitive dissonance) and unquenchable yearnings of their own souls . Homosexual practice will never ever satisfy the deepest needs of the human heart; it leaves only emptiness and despair.
In the Europride 2006 awards ceremony, Garry Frisch, the founder of Gaydar.com, a homosexual dating agency (Be warned Gaydar.com is not a site for those of sensitive or delicate disposition) came third after Sir Ian Mckellen and Sir Elton John. It is also a fact that Denmark and other pro-gay countries have higher suicide rates amongst homosexuals than non-gay affirming countries.
In any other age Ian Mckellen would have been put behind bars long ago. The spectacle of him freely, without any noticeable opposition, being able to groom our nation’s children can only be put down to a supernatural force.
Just to put to rest the notion that homosexuals are an immutable species, a notion that is even denied by Peter Tatchell; the terms homosexual , heterosexual, homophile and heterophile were 19th century and early twentieth century constructs, based upon bogus science, so as to legitimise and give some kind of credibility for homosexual behaviour. Since then the American Psychiatric Association now lists at least 30 sexual orientations of which heterosexuality is just one. Can we really assume that incest, adultery, bestiality, pederasty, paedophilia, sado - masochism, objectum- sexuality, along with trans sexuality and bisexuality and many more are all equally genetic, since this is what their practitioners are also claiming? No, we are born mere men and women, complementary halves of a whole who sadly are free to behave in ways that are contrary to God’s original order.

Finally, one must have real understanding for the homophile’s problem and certainly they deserve as much protection from the bully as the obese child. We should wake up to the fact that something is seriously wrong with our society when those trying to escape from homophilia are in turn persecuted and deemed homophobic by Stonewall and their adherents. Are these not free to choose to be free from the bondage of homosexuality, as a basic human right?
I would urge every parent in Britain, if Gandalf or Dumbledore should turn up at your child‘s school and if you love and care for your children, to take him by the seat of the pants and march him off the premises in short order.

On Nov 30th the Department for Children issued a press release trumpeting the ‘success’ of their teenage pregnancy efforts by boasting that the teenage BIRTH rate (not conception rate) had decreased by 23% and was the lowest for 15 years.
What they didn’t say was this is because teenage abortions have steadily increased and are now the highest they have ever been.
There is something very sick about Government spin that makes success out of increasing teen abortions.
