THE GREAT GLOBAL WARMING COVER-UP

I’m sorry to keep harping on about the subject of Global Warming, but the temptation to do so amidst the current big freeze is proving irresistible.
With much of the Northern Hemisphere turning into a virtual block of ice, I am rapidly coming to the conclusion that the whole barmy saga is just one big cover-up to distract us from the really big issues facing our planet; and although it’s being exposed in no uncertain terms by present conditions, the climate change alarmists continue to bury their heads in the snow. What they need is a warm blanket!
For as I drove home from work tonight in temperatures reaching minus 7C listening to BBC Radio 4’s evening news programme asking all kinds of questions except the one begging to be asked, I thought how no-one has been able to explain the cooling trend.
So they have resorted to ‘cover-up’ by simply ignoring reference to it. But hopefully not everyone is as gullible as our government seem to be, and can recognise a wild animal when they see one.
Unfortunately, however, too many good Brits simply absorb the secular propaganda like blotting paper, so when the TV news announces that a new gap in evolution of some hundreds of millions of years has suddenly been discovered, telling us that our ancestor who first made his mark on land was some sort of crocodile, we all believe it as if it’s holy writ because so-called ‘scientists’ say so.
Strangely, on a night when Britain plunges deeper into a big freeze on a scale not seen for nearly 30 years with much of the country under nearly a foot of snow, the top story suddenly changes to the turmoil in which the ruling Labour Party finds itself.
And Climate Change Secretary, all of a sudden referred to as the Energy Secretary, Ed Miliband is wheeled out to try to dampen down the fire over this latest furore in which two former Cabinet ministers are apparently attempting to unseat Prime Minister Gordon Brown, only months before the General Election with Labour already seriously behind in the polls.
With the party tearing themselves apart, they are surely scoring an own goal for the opposition Conservatives, having just lost the opportunity of taking advantage of Tory leader David Cameron’s wobbler over his vow to re-introduce tax incentives for marriage couples if and when he comes to power (see earlier article). At Prime Minister’s Question Time today, Mr Brown mocked his vacillating position over the issue with the comment, “He can’t say ‘I do’ or ‘I don’t’!”
For sure, Mr Cameron won’t get too much support from Christians and those who sympathise with their take on life if he’s soft on marriage.
And yet, through all this, no-one is asking the big question: where is Global Warming in all this debate? Why has so much been invested in tackling an issue about whose existence there is serious doubt, even among scientists, with the obvious phenomenon all around us also contributing to scepticism? We need an answer – from Downing Street, Conservative Central Office and the Liberal Democrats.
The foolishness of the whole situation was encapsulated by another item on tonight’s news – the approval of renewable energy power lines designed to combat climate change across 150 miles of scenic Scotland, currently frozen rigid by snowdrifts of several feet.
What we need is true Yorkshire grit. A shortage of salt and ‘grit’ to make roads passable has hit much of Britain, but at Mountain, near Halifax, the highest village in England, they still managed to make it to school – and to the pub. We can overcome both foolishness and overwhelming odds with determination – and faith in God.

Of course if the writer cared to look at the planet’s temperatures for this week (rather than the little bit of cold in the UK) it would have been evident that the majority of the planet is well above average temperature.
Please note that most British Christians do care for people outside our lovely country and they are the ones who are already bearing the brunt of the consequences of our selfishness regarding ravaging the world’s resources.
I don’t suppose this will be displayed at it disagrees with the writer’s myopia!

What timely words of common sense, enough to warm the cockles of your heart. Well, it needs something like this, as we huddle together to keep warm.
